Erin Bobo

My unique journey has shaped the therapist I am today. While it may seem ironic, I am deeply grateful for the personal pain that led me to this work; it taught me that true healing cannot happen while we are at war with our bodies. We must be on the same team. I am also thankful that my first teachers were horses. These wise beings taught me to ‘feel’ rather than just talk or think about what to do, helping me trust my intuition and sense of touch. That mentorship was a natural way to connect with my gifts and provided a beautiful foundation for my formal education, ultimately opening the door for me to support you.

Erin Bobo, B.S., L.M.T. is an Expert Myofascial Release Therapist with experience in the healing arts since the mid 1990’s.

Erin knows first hand about the experience of “chasing your tail” to find relief from chronic pain through her own very frustrating, long journey with traditional approaches after a serious car accident in high school. Erin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lynchburg College and detoured from the plan to go to Vet School after having a profound healing experience from chronic, debilitating back pain with the help of Myofascial Release. This experience ignited her passion for this therapy and led her to discover her gift with therapeutic bodywork. She has had continuous training by MFR founder, John Barnes, P.T. since 1998 completing and repeating all the required courses to be an Expert therapist. Erin continues to study with John Barnes and other therapists in order to always maintain growth and development of her craft.

Erin has found that working on both people and animals has been an important combination in her development as a therapist. Early on in her career, it was evident that animals played a very important role as teachers in developing her intuition and awareness, which is the foundation that complements her extensive education. Licensed as a Massage Therapist and Equine Sports Massage Therapist, Erin established her practice in Atlanta, Georgia and then relocated back to her hometown in 2002, opening her practice in PA to share her gifts with the people of Chester County and surrounding communities. Her continued support of the Equine community has also led her to travel to various equestrian hubs in the United States as well as Ireland.

“Erin has an amazing way of tapping into her clients. When I leave an appointment I can move so much easier and it’s as if my stress has just melted away. She has helped many of my chronic issues and given me the tools to continue the work at home. I am so thankful I found her.” - Jen M.

Hands on Therapy

Erin primarily utilizes Myofascial Release and Cranial Sacral therapy in her sessions with people in order to address many musculoskeletal and fascial conditions. She focuses on compassionate guidance into deeper body awareness to achieve long-lasting pain relief and wellness. Her healing approach incorporates the goal of releasing pain patterns by creating an environment that offers the opportunity to develop a deeper relationship and understanding of what the body needs. She helps develop a sense of empowerment in the clients’ ability to take their healing into their own hands by being truly present in their healing process.

Since one of her foundational beliefs is that movement and exercise have an important role in healing and maintaining health, Erin also incorporates movement therapy/postural therapy through her certification as an Egoscue Therapist. Egoscue plays an important role in re-educating muscles and focuses on getting the muscles to “wake up” and activate in the functional way they are intended to. In addition, Erin is an effective and passionate teacher on the subject of wellness, and offers insightful experiential educational opportunities for others through events and workshops.

Erin’s therapeutic approach and guidance have helped thousands of clients struggling with chronic pain, acute pain, and chronic illness, as well those who already feel great and want to maintain their health through every stage of their wellness journey.

Healing through her own experience with chronic pain through the technique of MFR and growing and learning from many of life’s big transformations has provided the greatest tools in her “tool box” allowing her to empower, educate and empathize with each client that allows her the opportunity to assist them in their healing process.

Erin is passionate about treating each client as a unique individual with a unique experience verses a symptom that needs to be ”fixed”.

Personal Mission Statement

My mission is to work with clients who are ready to tap into their own inner wisdom—which often begins with bridging the gap in their relationship with their bodies.

When we are in pain, it is natural to disconnect; however, long-term healing requires us to reconnect. By combining your willingness to lean in with my knowledge and intuitive gifts, we can discover exactly what you need to reach your goals, whether you are recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or maintaining a healthy body and mind.

We often try to control our healing by clinging to the analytical mind, constantly asking how and why. But we must move our 'minds' out of the way of what we think we know. Only then can we hear the body’s wisdom and let it lead us to what truly needs our focus.

It is my intention to listen to you and your body, work with you as a team, and create a safe place for healing.

Through years of experience I have come to recognize the importance of the therapist not taking on the role of the one who is expected to “fix” a problem. Instead, it is my role to be a guide and to assist and empower my clients to play just as much of an active role as I do myself in each session.
